
The next morning comes slow and gentle. Sunlight filters through the half-drawn blinds, painting stripes across the bare floor. I wake without the alarm—body still a little heavy from yesterday but rested.
Coffee in a travel mug, quick shower, simple jeans and a soft sweater. By 10:30, the moving truck rumbles up to the curb outside, a big white beast with hydraulic lift and two cheerful guys in company polos.
